Community Values

EPFC recognizes there are many challenges facing communities today. A business cannot truly be successful without the support of a healthy community that surrounds it. As such, our employees regularly volunteer their time and organize fundraisers to support programs that enrich the lives of people that are less fortunate.

Charities we support include Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter, Salvation Army Toy Drive and Foodbank, Calgary Foodbank, Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, and various educational programs. Whether it is downtown Calgary, our fabrication facilities in Grande Prairie and Pouce Coupe, or our field staff abroad, EPFC employees strive to have a positive impact in their local communities.

Our Indigenous Engagement Program

We believe every project provides opportunities to build stronger relationships with Indigenous peoples. Through open communication and collaboration with Indigenous organizations, we continuously find new ways to add value to their communities. At any stage of a project, our project teams work in partnership with our clients to integrate these opportunities into our execution plans.

However, there is more to our program than just business relationships. EPFC is committed to investing in Indigenous community programs. These programs focus on wellness, education, and building a sustainable future.

Some of the initiatives EPFC supports are as follows:

  • Cultural Camps, Rodeos, Holiday Functions
  • Language and Cultural Programs
  • Housing and community facility and infrastructure renovations
  • Wellness sponsorship (Treatment programs)
  • Water Infrastructure
  • Trade Training Programs

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

EPFC is committed to fostering environmentally sustainable workplaces by incorporating the tools & procedures to conserve, protect, and improve the environment. We continuously look for ways to integrate environmental objectives into our workplace practices.

On job sites, we recycle steel, copper, aluminum, wood, as well as everyday recyclables such as paper and plastics. In the shop, steel and sand/ glass used for blasting activities are recycled. We also recycle plastic wrapping utilized to secure transport loads.

Our Site Supervisors ensure that proactive efforts are taken to safeguard against spills. Wildlife habitat is respected at all times, and all waste is appropriately managed to eliminate any attractant for wildlife. EPFC’s HSE personnel regularly review site-specific environmental requirements.

Environmental protection is an integral element of our corporate culture, and we ensure our workers are aware of the importance of environmental stewardship.
